Fashion with Purpose: Celebrating Sufia Junaid as a 2025 Lady of Influence
The Junaid Family Foundation (JFF) celebrates our Trustee Sufia Junaid, who was honored as a 2025 Lady of Influence at The Runway, an annual event hosted by the Fashion Talks Foundation that celebrates fashion as a diverse industry and a powerful force for good right here in Cleveland. Sufia wore a showstopping piece by acclaimed Pakistani designer Faraz Manan, whose work is known for its intricate detail and global elegance.
The Runway has grown far beyond a fashion event, but a platform for social impact, community empowerment, and cultural celebration. Founder and Executive Director of the Fashion Talks Foundation, Aimon Ali, has led with purpose and vision the past 5 years to build her thriving organization. By displaying the work of local designers and artists, particularly women of color, The Runway helps position Cleveland as a city with global creative influence, and inclusive economic growth.
This milestone year marked not only the 5th anniversary of The Runway, but also a renewed commitment to using fashion and art as catalysts for equity and opportunity. The event, hosted at the beautiful Western Reserve Historical Society, was a gathering of community leaders, entrepreneurs, advocates, and artists who were all united by a shared belief in the power of expression.
Sufia Junaid’s recognition as a Lady of Influence reflects her deep-rooted dedication to women and girls, both locally in Cleveland and abroad as far as Pakistan. Through her leadership and philanthropy of JFF, she has championed efforts that promote education, maternal health, and economic opportunity for those in under-resourced communities. Her work is driven by a belief that every person, regardless of circumstance, deserves the chance to reach their full potential.
“Whether it’s a health worker in rural Pakistan who has been trained to give lifesaving care or a young woman who’s pursuing her education through a scholarship that we helped fund, I find a lot of joy in the ripple effect of dignity restored and futures reimagined,” says Sufia.
JFF was proud to sponsor The Runway event. We congratulate Sufia and all this year’s Ladies of Influence for their inspiring contributions.
