Furthering JFF’s Commitment to Maternal Health and Nutrition through Grant to UH Rainbow Ahuja Center for Women & Children
The Junaid Family Foundation (JFF) is pleased to announce their first grant for 2026 to the University Hospitals Rainbow Ahuja Center for Women & Children (RACWC). This grant will bolster nutrition programming at their Midtown location, which serves over 30,000 patients per year, many of whom are vulnerable women and children of Cleveland.
This investment will take a three-pronged approach that combines access to fresh and healthy food, long-term nutrition sustainability, and hands-on learning, all which are foundational to building successful lives of families. The three tiers of the grant include:
- Expansion of the Healthy Harvest program – adding an additional day of fresh fruit & vegetable distribution, doubling the program’s impact.
- Emergency food bags & education – dietician-approved emergency food assistance, helping families during times of distress, while working on long-term food security resources and education with the Rainbow Connects program.
- Nutrition Demonstrations for CenteringPregnancy participants – integrating food tastings and cooking demos in a group care setting for pregnant people at the RACWC.
“Maternal nutrition is foundational to the health of both women and their children. This grant reflects our commitment to supporting practical and community-based solutions that strengthen families during such critical stages of life,” reflects Sufia Junaid, Trustee of JFF.
By expanding access to fresh food, providing emergency support during periods of greatest need, and equipping families with practical nutrition knowledge, this partnership reflects JFF’s commitment to advancing maternal and child health through integrated and community-based solutions.
Together, the Junaid Family Foundation and the UH Rainbow Ahuja Center for Women & Children are working to ensure that families, especially pregnant women and young children, have the nourishment and support they need to thrive.
